Yet Another Star Wars Podcast: The Phantom Menace

Almost 20 years later we head to the past! Colleen, Anders and Daniel are joined by Sara from Bohemian Geek Studies to reminisce about Episode I: The Phantom Menace!
We remember the hype leading up to seeing this movie for the first time and have a good-natured disagreement over Jar Jar Binks (but we all agree that Darth Jar Jar would have been EPIC). Colleen gets to gush a little bit about Darth Maul and we all lament how little he was in the film. Daniel can’t get enough of the pod race but Anders and Colleen both think it went on for too long. Sara mourns the loss of Qui-Gon so early in the series and we all agree that Padme and her handmaidens don’t get enough credit for how stellar they really are. As we are wont to do, we shout out John Williams and his amazing Duel of the Fates as one of the films highest points while some of the dialogue between Anakin and Padme is certainly the lowest.
