Forgotten Horror Flashback: Monster House

Monster House - Forgotten Cinema Podcast

Original Blog Post: October 16, 2019 - The animation may not hold up, but the story does.

Welcome to the third entry of this year’s Forgotten Horror, where the Mikes tackle the scariest type of film there is…a kids film!!!

Mike Field and Mike Butler deconstruct (get it?!) the 2006 animated film, Monster House, directed by Gil Kenan and produced by Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg. They’ll go over the role of adults in the film, the unique use of motion capture within the film, and discuss the change in parent's attitudes toward presenting children with content they might find scary.

Listeners beware!!! The scariest thing in this podcast will be the amount of wisdom Field attempts to extoll upon you!!! (Is that a dig? - MF)

So grab some brains and a cup of witches brew, please notice the spiders hanging at the front and rear of the mausoleum, and prepare your soul for Forgotten Horror!!!
