Forgotten Flashback: The Mask of Zorro

The Mask of Zorro - Forgotten Cinema Podcast

Original Blog Post: August 28, 2019 - You can make a case that this is the best adventure movie you never talk about.

The Mikes learn to "swashbuckle" with Antonia Banderas, Anthony Hopkins, and Catherine Zeta Jones in the 1998 adventure film The Mask of Zorro, directed by Martin Campbell.

Listen to this episode of Forgotten Cinema as the Mikes lament the lack of modern swashbucklers, discuss casting prominent white actors in Latino roles, as well as gush over the incredible work done by the stunt team to make a memorable and exciting adventure film. Also, keep an ear out to hear Mike Butler embarrass himself by singing a few bars of the 1950's Zorro TV show theme.

So cut a Z into your favorite seat, grab your popcorn, soda, please notice the exits at the front and rear of the auditorium, and settle down for Forgotten Cinema

Normally, we'd be pushing the one movie (The Mask of Zorro), but this double-feature Blu-ray has first movie and The Legend of Zorro for only $19.99. If you want just Mask, it's $14.99. I mean, come on now, an extra $5 gets you both. Can't turn your nose up at that.

As always, we are an Amazon affiliate and receive compensation for every unit sold, but it's also a great way to show your support for Forgotten Cinema!
